क्यों तुम इतना ?
Today, while going for morning walk, slight drizzle surprised me and these were the lines that instantly came to my mind. Man,,, I just love that moment.
आज बिन मौसम बरखा की फुहार
जब पड़ी मेरे चेहरे पर
बनकर तुम्हारा प्यार |
और चूमा मेरे गालों को,
मेरे होठों, मेरी पलकों को
तुम ही तुम थे, और कुछ नहीं |
क्यों इस तरह छूकर जाते हो
क्यों सताते हो,
क्यों तुम इतना याद आते हो ?
Attempted Translation:
Today when your love came
as an unexpected sprinkle
And kissed my cheeks, lips,
eyes and nape
it was just you and nothing else.
Why do you go away like this
touching me, teasing me
leaving me to yearn more?

Waoww.. I guess it was the Morning Sunshine which kissed you and suddenly the cloud has taken it away.
But you know when it will come out in mid day, He will not get you as you will have a lovely umbrella to take care of you.
Hope you understand what I mean to say, so enjoy Cuckoo and cheers.

Mayank,
Thank you very much. Seeing you after long time.
Ash,
Shukriya.
Peter,
Yes, my own translation but translations are never the same. They just give an idea of the topic.
Ha Ha.. Tiger?? No, I was alone. It will be a problem for others if he comes along.
Beast,
Thank you. Could you read the Hindi poem or just read the translation ? Or should I send you the Hinglish version ? Hindi written in English ?
Lolz.. don’t try to find any meaning in it.
Jeevan,
Welcome again !! You’ve come after a very long time. Happy to see you here.
Thank you for liking it. But I must say my feeble translation doesn’t do justice to the original.
Keep coming.

It rained in the evening here(quite heavily)… and i thought.. what the hell.. chaaata(umbrella) bhi nahi hai.. ghar kaise jaunga..
shit.. that was a bad PJ..
vaise kehna padega..bandi tu romantic type ki hai… and to be honest after reading the hindi version, I hated the translation part of it.. saare emotions barkha ke paani ke saath beh gaye…

कहीं से रूत्जगे कहीं ज़र्निगार से ख़्वाब दे .
तेरा क्या उसूल है ज़ींदगी , तुझे कौन इसका जवाब दे ।
जो बीछा सकूं तेरे वास्ते जो सजा सकूं तेरे रास्ते .
मेरी दस्तारस मैं सीतारे रख मेरी मुट्ठियों को गुलाब दे ..खैर !! बहुत छोटी सी रचना में आप बहुत बड़ी बात कह गए ……

uski yaad kabhi muskurahat, kabhi aansu ban, dheere se, halke se jab aati hai to khud ke hi hone ka ehsaas dilati hai bus isiliye aati hai, fir jab bhoolne lagun khud ko, fir se khud ki yaad ban, uski yaad chali aati hai.

Sometimes even after 10 questions one remains as blank as a kora kaagaz.
Well, I am always an early riser. So, morning walks come with that, I guess. And come on, you know all this.

SiD,
Arrey sir se paavN (whatever be the spelling) tak romance tapakta hai yahan.
Ha Ha… Itne dino se itni sari poems padhne ke baad aaj pata chala ki I am romantic type ?? Bad very bad.
And the translation ?? wo to awehi non-Hindi logon ko behlaane ke liye 2 minutes job hai. Mat padha karo aap.
Translations can never do justice to the original work.
Raj Yadav,
स्वागत है आपका यहाँ मेरे ब्लॉग पर | आपको मेरी रचनाएं पसंद आयीं, इसका धन्यवाद |

Priyank,
Ha Ha.. yeah, true if you talk about processing but my poems are always very simple worded.
And the translations can never do justice to the original work. Am I not right ?
Merisi said,

It’s so true, translations are a bit like transliteration, the letters may be transferable, but the meaning can many times never be expressed as perfectly. Much gets lost in translation, indeed.
I wonder how you experience the seasons. There was s slight drizzle here too while I walked home this evening. I suppose in your part of the world it’s warmer than 12°C at 10pm. I must say I have a weakness for drizzle, it muzzles the noises, and makes me feel serene. But only if it doesn’t last for days.

Yes Merisi. Plus the language has its own flavour, annotations etc. which can never be translated.
Awww, I don’t like those freezing wintry drizzles of Europe if it goes on for days.. especially when snowing competes with it. Traveling this week, let me see if I have to carry an umbrella.
Jarvarm,
Welcome again and thank you.
Deepak,
What a surprise !! Glad to see you back.
And thank you so much for liking the poem.
