Best Comment of the … ..

Ok Cuckoo, enough of gibberish that you wrote on previous post. And that Rahi also posted one comment which generated some sparks if not heat. Now you got to calm (read divert) them by writing what was promised a few posts back. OK ?
Cuckoo behaves silently, sheepishly and other ‘ly’s and promises to generate heat write on the ‘deadly’ topic once she is back from her venture.

Now read on.

Since quite long I have been asked by many of you to write on it. Ok I will write, but don’t you dare to bully me like this again. :P

People often ask me what have been my blogging high points or what my blogging philosophy is.

Well, I am neither a veteran in this field nor a popular blogger. I am just like one of you. There is no straight hard & fast rule but I do think there must be something missing somewhere in our blogs for not attracting the crowd or for driving them away.

In a series of a few posts I’ll try to list a few simple things from my experience of two years which might help us. For obvious reasons, I can not speak about those professional blogs whose sole aim is to top the charts or/and make money. I’ll speak about only personal blogs.

Whether it has helped in increasing my readership or not, it might open a door for all of us because these are a few basic things we readers look for, when we turn to a blog for reading.
Let me be honest here, I do not follow all of them (reasons could be anything) but would like to. I think they are some positive points.
On your part, you are more than welcome to add and discuss your experiences and views and if anything new comes up, I’ll update the post. But please don’t wait for me; by writing on this I have already done my part. Now it’s your turn.. .. let us learn together.  :)

Mostly I’ll cite my examples with some other additions. If you want, I’ll also take examples of your blogs to let you know, what according to me, are positives & negatives about them.

But for doing that, you’ll have to give your name here and whenever in my examples I can cite your blogs, I will.
This will also give opportunity to other bloggers to visit your blogs & who knows an increased readership for you. ;)
But what about my readership ? How am I going to increase that ?  *wonders Cuckoo*

One more thing I want to talk about is, if you come to my site, you’ll notice a few changes on my sidebars. Top Commenters of the month (overall) & Top commented posts have been added. And a few more things.

CommentEvery insightful comment you leave on a post on any of the three blogs enhances Cuckoo’s Cosmos in more than one way. I appreciate every comment, hope you’ll leave more, and encourage you to do so if you never have.
In case you don’t get a chance to follow the latest comments in the sidebar (they change very fast), here are some of the Most Valued comments for last month. Yes, from now onwards every month they will get displayed here.

The first Most Valued comment of October was from M on my post Crime & Punishment where she shared her own story with us and showed the way to cope with this trauma.

Not in any particular order here are some more comments.

From Kashmira on Blog Action Day.
Lakshmi on Crime & Punishment.
Dinesh on Crime & Punishment again where he thought I had written about myself. :P
Kumar Raghvendra on You. Yes, I regularly get a substantial no. of comments on my archived posts as well.

This one is from my travel blog, I just picked up one and posted here for lack of time. ANRB on Parasailing in Panchgani. She says she’s going to use my site for planning her trips. Why ? Read her comment.

That’s all for now. This post is scheduled to appear in my absence. I am off again from blogging for a few days. As mentioned above, waiting for your names here. :)

And no fighting. Come in queue and be good children, ok ? :D

You know that I find a great pleasure to come to your blog. (Obvioulsy I’m at present no. 2 on the frequency list.) The variety of items on this blog (not mentioning your speciality blogs) is I think one of the particularly nice things.

What you also do (and which I don’t) is to take up matters which may lead to a discussion, or as in the case with “pass the sentence”, lead to an exchange. I like to read posts in general, but appreciate especially when you can learn something from or enjoy reading also the comments part. The freedom to express opinions is important!

I remember of course also your interviews, which I think was a very nice idea and made us learn more aobut others … and ourselves!

I think M deserved the most valued comment title…and I did enjoy reading the crime and punishment post.

And no, I’m not posting this just so that I’ll be in the running for top commenters of the month. Okay maybe I am…but just a little. Hey, arent you glad I’m commenting anyway? :P

Very interesting and nice of you to point out some interesting comments in your blogs. I think it will bring the readers together and encourage them to comment. I hope it doesn’t become a commenting contest though, but if it does can we have a free Inkfruit T-shirt? I think i always find one day in a fortnight, where I go - “huh, which T-shirt do I wear? everything seems to be worn recently”. You can fill that day of mine :)
