Nostalgic Moments - II
Her unlimited inquisitiveness and imaginations always made her mother mad. Now that she looks back, she thinks her mother tried her best to teach, dodge and sometimes threaten the 5 year old little girl.
Mommy, bachche pet se aate hain na ?
(Thinking here she comes again !) Haan
Main bhi aapke pet se aayi ?
Haan
Abhi aur bhi bachche haiN aapke pet mein ?
Silence
Mommy, how many more ? 2, 3, 4 ? 10 ? Tenty (Twenty) ?
Silence
Mere bhi pet mein hain ?
Silence
Mommyyyyyy !!
Haan hain
Looking down at her tummy, abhi to chhote chhote honge na ? Cheenti jaise ?
Haan
Lekin, wo aunty bol rahiN thi ki shadi ke baad he bachhe hote hain ?
Haan. Jab shadi ho jati hai to bachche ko pata chal jata hai ki bahar aana hai
Shadi to sindoo (sindoor(vermilion)) lagane se hoti hai na ?
(Mommy with sinking heart) Haan
Tell me mommy, when I was in your tummy to mujhe kaise pata chala ki aapne sindoo lagaya aur aapki shadi ho gayi? Is there any hole in your tummy ?
Beta, go out and see what is Sandow (their dog) doing ?
Mommyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy !!
Shall I give you an orange to eat ?
Mommy, aapko nahi aata answer iska? (Don’t you know the answer?)
LOL.. .. It was extremely difficult to distract her and she was way too intelligent to know when she was being avoided. Innocent and naive little girl.
Mommyyy !! Tell me na !!
No, I don’t know.
Theek hai, I’ll ask daddy in the evening.
And off she goes to play with her dog.
I think these types of questions made her think that all females are dumb. It was another thing that her father was clued-up well before he stepped inside the house.
Another song from her list is
Asava sundar chokletchya bangla – It needs special mention. It is a Marathi song sung by kids. I heard it first time after coming to Mumbai and it always makes me smile and sing. This one is on the lines of a Hindi song from Rekha starrer “Khoobsurat” where they talk about chocolate, icecreams etc.
To be contd for Part III… .. ..
Current Song:- Asava sundar chokletchya bangla

Not always easy for a mom (or dad … or grandpa) to give the good answers!

:D, I am not amused, having a four year ol friend with very similar mannerisms.
. Yah, dealing with one gets on your nerves. Like the time when after a barrage of questions for over an hour, I put a lion king movie and thought, …escaped .. after ten minutes she called… come sit here n tell me the story na? :((

Abhi,
It’s coming.
Sandeep,
Abhishek,
I am waiting for your post.
Peter,
Oh yes, I agree.
Deepu,
Ha Ha Ha… So, did you tell ?
Sumit,
My mom was so bugged that she remembered some of it and repeated to me when I reached a stage to understand. Probably she wanted to tell me how adorable I was !!
Indu,
Adorable ?? Who ? The story or the girl ?
I too wonder the same.

Obviously, the choice was not mine you see. I can dodge older chaps easily, though.
