भिन्डी
This is for someone who hates Bhindi (ladies finger). 
जब तुम दुनिया की छोटी-छोटी बातों पर
झुंझला जाते हो, बेचैन घूमते हो |
और मुझे ठोड़ी के नीचे हाथ रखे,
खामोश मुस्कुराता पाते हो
बिलकुल उसी तरह जैसे बैठे हो तुम उस तस्वीर में |
चश्मे के पीछे से फिर
मुझसे सवालती हैं तुम्हारी आँखें |
उफ़ ! तब कितना प्यार आता है तुम पर
जी करता है बस प्यार करती रहूँ
और यूँही तुम्हें पल पल जीती रहूँ |
और तुम !
आज भिन्डी क्यों बनाई ?
तुम्हें मालूम है ना मुझे नहीं पसंद ?
अरे अपना काम देखो, क्रिकेट देखो, या फिर मुझे निहारो
कहाँ फँस गए बेचारी भिन्डी में ?

I suppose all this comes only when one is staying at home. For example, right now I will happily have anything that is cooked at home including karela , Am fed up with my own cooking. Yes many years back nothing was cooked rite, salt too less, something too sweet and what not.

मुझे भिंडी पहले पसंद नहीं थी | हाल ही में मैंने पाया की भिंडी मेरी पसंदीदा सब्ज़ियों मे हो गयी है | इसका मुख्य कारण था, भिंडी की नयी पेशकश जो हमारे खांसामे ने बनाए.
भिंडी की कई भाँको मे बाँटें बिना दो हिस्सों में किए | उसके बाद उसमे मसाला भरें ुआर धीमी आँच पर पकायं. कर्छई धीरे धीरे चलायें | नमक स्वादानुसार | साबुत भिंडी में जब मसाला रच जाए तो बर्तन को ढक कर थोरी देर और पकने दें.
हो गयी भरवाँ भिंडी , अच्छे से परसोने |

Reminds me of a Javed Akhtar sher which goes something like:
” Lo dekh lo, yeh ishq hai, yeh vasl hai, yeh hijr,
aab laut chale aao, bahut kaam pada hai!”

I love Bhindi in any form including many lesser known dishes also. Have you ever tried south Indian kadhi with bhindi ? I can’t write the name here as my handwriting in Tamil is bad.

Childhood mai jab mai chota tha to mere frnds ko is sabji kai angreji naam mai badi dikkat hoti thi…
